No Gimmicks, just honesty

In today's political world there are billions upon billions of dollars spent trying to capture votes. The giant machine of party influence buys ad space, swag, signs, and pretty much any marketing opportunity you can imagine to get their candidate to be the loudest, shouting voice heard. This is coupled with decades old rhetoric of telling everyone that you should be afraid NOT to vote for them.

"A vote for anyone but me means you are voting against all the good things. You are voting against what is right!"

Fortunately this is not as bad at the state vs. the national level but it's still out there. I haven't met with my opposing candidates yet but I commend anyone who is willing to step out of their daily comfort zone and willingly represent an entire community, especially a diverse one like eastern Salt Lake County.

I will offer you no gimmicks to vote for me this year, I'm not even planning to put up many signs. Instead I will throw a few posts on the website or social media and let you decide for yourself what works best to "capture your vote".

If you're ready to see something different, a politician who answers to constituents not parties, then I would ask for your vote. Let's work together to find common ground solutions!
